Biography
Background: I was born in Goessel and grew up on a farm about six miles south of town. I graduated from Goessel High School in 1981 and married my husband Doug, who is also a GHS graduate, in 1983. We have three grown children - Derrek, Linessa and Larinda and five grandchildren - Aiden, Nevaeh, Jalynn, Brayson and Connor. While still in high school I began working at Bethesda as a nurse aide. I continued to work in that role until Derrek was born in 1985. After staying home with my children for a number of years I returned to school and received my AA degree in Nursing from Hesston College in 1996. Following graduation I returned to Bethesda and worked as a charge nurse, then as nurse manager and now as DON.
Personal Interests: I enjoy being active. I like walking, lifting weights and kickboxing. I also enjoy digital scrapbooking, reading and watching college sports. My greatest love however is spending time with my family!
Why Bethesda Home?:
God has called us to love and care for each other and I see this being carried out each day at Bethesda! So why would I NOT want to work here? I am passionate about Bethesda. It has been an integral part of my life, shaping me both personally and professionally into the person I am today. As I look at the future of long term care I see not only the challenges that lie ahead, but also the opportunites for new growth and development as we seek to continue to provide compassionate, loving care to those who choose to call Bethesda "home".
